Packages

Self-service Shipping

Departments may now contract directly with United Parcel Service (UPS) and/or Federal Express (FedEx) to have packages picked up and delivered using greatly reduced rates. 

How it works:

1. Sign up for which service you would like to use by filling out one of the following forms:
• UPS
• FedEx
2. Submit form to the WMU mail center to have an account set up on the corresponding system.
3. An account number will be sent to your attention.
4. Create a shipping label by logging in to the appropriate system using your account number.
• UPS Campus Ship
• or FedEx Ship Manager
5. Pay for the shipment using your procurement card.
6. Request pickup:
   • Directly from vendor (a small pick up fee will be incurred.)
   • WMU receiving at 387-8811 or 387-8819 (pickup FREE).

Addressing Packages

When ordering an item request that the company clearly address the outside of the package in one of the following manners:

TO CENTRAL RECEIVING:	EXACT CAMPUS ADDRESS:
ATTN: Individual Full Name Department Name Central Receiving Western Michigan University 1903 W Michigan Ave Kalamazoo MI 49008-5347 PO Number* (if applicable)	Individual Full Name Department Name 123 Friedman Hall, Rm 100 Western Michigan University 1903 W Michigan Ave Kalamazoo MI 49008-mail stop PO Number* (if applicable)

Please note: *If the package is on a purchase order (PO) and is delivered to the campus address please be sure to call (387-8811) to let us know what was received so the item can be checked in and the invoices paid in a timely manner.

Undeliverable Packages

Sometimes there is not enough information on the package to determine a deliverable address and the package will need to be researched. If no address can be determined, the package will be declared undeliverable. Undeliverable will be returned to the vendor within five (5) working days.
